We've been coming to this fantastic restaurant since they opened many years ago. Most restaurants don't get better with age, but this one has. Over the years my family has frequented this place because the menu has such great variety and everything is so thoughtfully prepared. Let me list our favorites-their POTATO CHIPS, onion rings, superfood salad with chicken, quinoa crunch bowl with salmon, house salad, cheeseburger, brisket, meatball sandwich, spaghetti and meatballs, hot and cold dip, homemade soups, chicky Philly sandwich, chicken Alfredo, TURKEY SANDWICH, and ALL OF THEIR DESSERTS. Basically, you can't go wrong here. It's obvious that everything is freshly made. They have a full bar and prices are reasonable. Just go!

I'm never disappointed with the food here. I wish it was a cuter place. And the staff can be kind of strange -- like weird social interactions - but they're attentive and get the orders right. Prices are average for where we live. Portions are good size but not over sized. Eclectic menu. I like this place! So do my friends. I can't get my husband to go but he's the suspicious sort and the lack of "identity" in the menu and ambiance give him pause.

Party of 12 of us stopped by on a Thursday afternoon. Our bartenders Hannah and John were all over it. Everyone had a cocktail within minutes and our food came out right away. I can't say enough about the service that John and Hannah provided, while also managing the rest of the bar area. The cocktails were solid pours and delicious with the NY Sour being a standout. The pub food was similarly delicious - the onions were said to be "the best I've ever had" by several of us. The fish and chips were super flaky and light and use the same batter made with French Broad Kolsch beer that is fantastic - no greasiness that you might expect. The hand-cut fries were super tasty - especially with a splash of malt vinegar. The Cowboy Cuban with brisket was superb as was the "Fettichoke". The Yelp! rating is what brought our group in and is really well-earned here at Wayside. If you're in the Biltmore Village area and looking for a great spot for craft beer, cocktails, and quick/tasty food - come to Wayside.

We were visiting the Biltmore Village area (shopping and dining) when we spotted this restaurant located in the old train depot. Double checking with my fellow Yelpers, the site had good reviews so we gave it a try. We both ordered a cup of soup - today's special was cheesy (feta) tomato basil and it was excellent. I had cabbage rolls - served with mashed potatoes. Outside of some ethnic restaurants, it's a little unusual to find cabbage rolls on a restaurant menu. The Village Wayside's preparation of the cabbage rolls was spot-on and reminded me of ones I used to get in some old Polish and Hungarian restaurants back in Ohio. My wife ordered the teriyaki glazed salmon with the vegetable medley. She's quite picky about her salmon and said this was excellent. Service was excellent and the food was excellent.

Enjoyed it! We stopped in after a visit to the Biltmore. It was a rainy Saturday early evening. This restaurant is centrally located in Asheville. There is parking out front to the left of the building. We both ate from the appetizer section of the menu. She had the tuna tacos and an order of the 'frites style fries' and I had the chicken tenders and fries. All food was hot and fresh and delicious. We split a cupcake for dessert. My friend had a couple of beers to drink and commented on the inexpensive the bar bill was. Our server was EXCELLENT! We had John and he was amazing. If you are visiting Asheville definitely eat here!

Driving around Asheville looking for a local hangout for a non local. While traveling, I try to avoid the chain restaurants for obvious reasons. As I was about to give up the map spoke to me and I followed to land at this little spot where it was an obvious local favorite. Not too crowded as it is a Tuesday night at 7:30. I was seated and served immediately. The draft beer selection was minimal but they had many options in cans mostly from Local breweries. I would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for beer and a burger while in Asheville!

My wife checked out places near our hotel to grab something to eat. She picked this place because it had good reviews and was very close, in fact we were able to walk. We were immediately greeted when we entered and asked if wanted to sit in the bar or the dining room. We said we would rather sit in the bar area. The place felt like a locals establishment right in the middle of town. We were given menus and our server came to take our drink orders and we perused the menu. We chatted a little with our server about our travels and the menu looking for her recommendations. My wife chose the Super Food Salad and I decided to get the Cuban Cowboy Sandwich which is Texas style beef brisket, Cuban pork, pickles, Swiss cheese and sweet bacon mustard sauce on a ciabatta roll. We also decided to get the CBR fries appetizer. The CBR fries appetizer arrived first, looked amazing and tasted delicious. My wife and I picked through them until they were gone. I could easily say they were the best bacon, cheese fries in recent memory. Our entrees arrived a short while later and also looked amazing. My wife enjoyed her salad and thought it was original. My sandwich was also very tasty. We also thought the prices were especially good for a tourist town. We would highly recommend to others visiting Asheville!
